This Privacy Policy describes how Fast Scroll ("We," "Us," or "Our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Fast Scroll Extension (the "Extension"), currently available for Google Chrome.
What We Collect
- User scroll events:
Fast Scroll processes user scroll events to support custom scroll speeds. This information includes data about the direction, intensity, and duration of scrolling.
- Keyboard events:
Fast Scroll collects keyboard events to assess whether it should to apply custom scroll speeds, according to the user's preferred key combination and activation strategy. This includes data about the specific keys being pressed.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information solely to provide customizable scroll speeds. The real-time data collected, limited scroll events and key presses, is processed locally on the user's device. Real-time and any other sensitive information are transmitted to no external servers.
The only information transferred out of the user's device are not personally identifiable, destined to save and synchronize user preferences on different devices. This data is limited to the user's preferred:
- Scroll speed, such as "4 times the browser's default speed ";
- Scroll duration, such as "0.1 seconds ";
- Key combination, such as "Alt + Shift ".
- Activation strategy (trigger mode), such as "Hold key combination ".
Fast Scroll does not parse, read, use, save or alter in any way the content of the web pages visited by users.
Information Storage
All collected real-time data is processed locally on the user's device and is not sent to any external servers.
Preferences are saved and synchronized across devices using the official Chrome Storage API, which saves information to the user's Google Chrome profile. The storage and security of this data are managed by Google.
Third-Party Services
Fast Scroll only utilizes the official Chrome Storage API to store non-identifiable user preferences, as declared in the section "Information Storage". No other third-party services are used and absolutely no user data is or will ever be shared for marketing or advertising purposes.
Security
We take reasonable measures to secure the collected data. We pay special attention not to save any sensitive data and to process it solely on the user's device.
User Controls
Users have the option to disable or uninstall the Fast Scroll Extension at any time. Disabling the Extension will stop the collection of scroll and keyboard event data and the synchronization of preferences on different devices.
Updates to Privacy Policy
Fast Scroll may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Extension, other products or applicable regulations. Users will be notified of any significant changes.
